Safiea is 25 years old and has lived in Dar Zayed Orphanage since birth. Safiea has a biological brother who was adopted by a member of the royal family in the UAE. Safiea has a strong and unbreakable bond with her brother even though they grew up in very different circumstances. Safiea is a strong willed, hard working individual who is eager to learn, she is currently in her final year at Emirates College of Technology studying HR Management. The START scholarship gives Safiea an opportunity to development her knowledge and experience from different organization’s across the UAE and put into practice the skills learnt at University.

Dana Yousef Saleh – START Schoalrship – Jordan 2013 – Supported by Majid Al Futtaim
Dana is a bright and charismatic START student who has a real desire to learn and share her knowledge with her peers and strives to become a role model amoungst the younger START students. Dana has been attending our workshops in Al Hussain Camp, Jordan for the last year as a student and volunteer. Dana believes art is a way of expressing inner feelings and emotions and didn’t realize the power of art until joining the START workshops. Dana is passionate about Interior Design and is overwhelmed to be given the START Scholarship and the opportunity to further her education and her prospects of developing a career in a area she is passionate about.

Noamaan – START Scholarship – Dubai Autism Center 2013 Supported by Harry Winston LLC
START is delighted to be continuing their support by offering Noamaan another year of full time education at Dubai Autism Center. Noamann suffers from Autism and over the last year has been receiving tailor made therapy sessions, including occupational and movement therapy. Noamaan has noticeably improved with his motor skills and his ability to communicate, an advancement that would never have been possible without this scholarship. Early intervention is important with Autism and this continued support will help Noamaan grow and develop. He is a lovely vibrant young boy who loves toy cars and playing outside – START is excited to have a helping hand in his continued improvement.
