James Casaki, UAE Scholarship Winner

Last March, James was award the START Scholarship 2011, allowing him to leave Dubai Center for Special Needs at the age of 24 to follow his dream of working in the arts. Despite suffering from Kabuki Syndrome, James is a passionate and determined young man with a warm heart who has excelled all our expectations during the scholarship. James’s knowledge and confidence has continued to grow, his contribution and dedication to getting tasks completed has been admired by all his mentors. James has spent the last year working in different artistic organizations across Dubai including, Traffic, thejamjar, The Pavilion Downtown, British Council and DUCTAC, assisting the teams in set up for exhibitions, managing databases, ushering for shows and teaching assistant in workshops. He has had the opportunity to be mentored by artists and participated in artist run workshops at the Majlis Gallery. We couldn’t be more proud of James and all he has achieved this year.
