START Scholarship Programme

The START scholarship programme enables and supports motivated and talented disadvantaged children to develop their skills and creativity and gives them the opportunity to achieve higher education in the arts.

The scholarship programme is awarded to the candidate through the START awards at START’s Royal Gala Dinner at Art Dubai and by so doing, will create tangible role models that other children can aspire to.

UAE Scholarship

START provides a 1 year Scholarship Programme to encourage motivated and talented children with special needs in the UAE to pursue their passion for the arts. The START Awardee will be mentored by artists, intern at prestigious galleries in the region, visit the START House in Jordan and participate as a volunteer at START Workshops.

Jordan Scholarship

START provides a 3 year Scholarship Programme to enable and support motivated and talented disadvantaged children in Jordan, to develop their skills and creativity and give them the opportunity to achieve higher qualifications in the arts.

Access to higher education is limited for many refugees because of their difficult socio-economic situation. Therefore, the START Scholarship Programme provides financial support for university tuitions fees, accommodation and subsistence costs. Awards are given according to artistic and academic merit.

The Dubai Autism Centre (DAC) is a non-profit organization providing information, support, advice and training to professionals and parents of children with Autism. Founded in November 2001 with the issuance of a decree from H.H. Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the DAC is focused on providing various services for children with Autism and their families. The Centre also works toward facilitating a better community understanding of autism, including early diagnosis and treatment methodology.
